A typical day with Chichester Sailing

After a safety briefing with tea or coffee we sail down the harbour and, if conditions are right, cross the Solent towards the Isle of Wight. Here we have the possibility of anchoring for a picnic lunch, or picking up a buoy and visiting a local sailing club and the surrounding village. During the trip all our guests have the opportunity of taking part in the sailing or just sitting back and relaxing. In the afternoon we return to Chichester and with a favourable wind direction sail right up the harbour to the marina.

Many of the possible variations include sailing through the Forts to Portsmouth Harbour. Here you will have the opportunity of viewing the warships and perhaps having lunch on the Lightship, returning in the afternoon through the submarine barrier. Or simply enjoy sailing in the Solent towards Cowes while watching the great variety of yachts, ships and pleasure boats that use our waters. Whatever you choose, an enjoyable day out!

Sailing Days

Join the Chichester Sailing Group and come sailing with other like minded people.

We have wildlife watching trips throughout the winter to see the migratory birds, themed trips on various aspects of seamanship, and day sails twice a month in the summer. Occasionally we host longer trips where our guests stay over night in a Yacht Club or B&B and we all meet for a meal in the evening.

See our Diary and Wildlife pages for sailing bookings for 2023/4, and email us from the Contact page to enquire about a place.

Gift Vouchers

We offer Gift Vouchers for a day sail on Sunstar, ideal for Christmas and Birthday presents.
